Alien Roadkill

In Alien Roadkill, Ram Devineni returns to further profile famed African-American poet Lamont B. Steptoe, but this time, focuses on Steptoe’s search for the aliens who abducted him in Center City Philadelphia. Steptoe is an American Book Award winner and suffering from post-traumatic syndrome resulting from the Vietnam War. In 2008, he travelled to Roswell, New Mexico to find answers and soon discovers he is not “alone.”

Ram Devineni (Director, Camera, Producer and Editor) produced Vegas: Based on a True Story, by Amir Naderi, which was selected for competition at the 2008 Venice Film Festival and won the ITVS Diversity Development Fund in 2005. He also produced Naderi’s Sound Barrier, which won Critics Awards at Roma Film Festival and at the Torino Film Festival, Italy. It also was featured at the Tribeca Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, and Tokyo FILMex. Previously he wrote, produced and directed The Colours of the Sun (35mm), which was made at Prasad Film Studios in Madras, India and was screened at Cairo International Film Festival, Palm Springs International Film Festival, San Jose Film Festival, Philadelphia Festival of World Cinema, and San Francisco and NY International Asian American Film Festivals. He is one of the founders of the Academia Internacional de Cinema (http://www.aicinema.com.br) – the first independent film school in Sao Paulo, Brasil. He is the founder and editor of Rattapallax, Inc., which publishes poetry books and DVDs and has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council for the Arts, and The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
