Driving the American Dream: Producer: Chris Filippone and Christopher Rogy
From the Media Mobilizing Project, and independent media makers Chris Filippone and Chris Rogy, comes this exploration into the role and effect lawmakers and state regulators play in the lives of Philadelphia’s taxi drivers. Driving the American Dream reveals the very real and lived experiences of poor and working poor drivers that struggle each and every day to provide for their families. In the face of health risks without disability insurance, drivers are economically forced to work while putting the riding public at risk. This short documentary is a crucial view for anyone and everyone concerned about workers rights, health security, public health or their safety on the road.
