Illvibe! is a 5-minute documentary about the up and coming Philadelphia DJ crew, The Illvibe Collective. Consisting of a diverse group of DJs, the Illvibe collective has been growing their respected brand of 90s style turntablism since 2000. The Illvibe collective throws consistently successful parties, release regularly listened to podcasts, travel the world to DJ, host a successful radio show and have shared the stage with such notable acts as Gang Starr, King Britt, Jazzy Jeff, Q-Bert, Cee-Lo, Les Nubians, Public Enemy, Prince Paul, The New Deal, Zap Mama, Nelly. The Illvibe collective is unique to the Philadelphia hip hop scene in their “Do It Yourself” mentality, their old school aesthetic, and their attention to every sonic detail.

Rashid Zakat, having grown up on the west side of Baltimore City, has always searched for a creative outlet that merges art with technology. He found that in traditional and experimental filmmaking. While pursuing his film degree at Temple University, Rashid has worked as a producer for TUVOnline on projects for clients such as Ebony/Jet Magazine, BET, and Burrell Communications, the largest black advertising firm in America. He has been featured in The Metro, City Paper and The Philadelphia Inquirer for founding the Soul Aquatics Event series, which he most recently rolled over into a small freelance media firm working on short documentaries and client websites. Rashid continues to grow his abilities and expand his unique method of storytelling with longer documentary projects on the Philadelphia Hip Hop community and interactive narratives. He also continues to teach film and video for the Art Sanctuary’s Northstars after school program at Temple University.

Kali Baker-Johnson (Producer) grew-up in Northern New Jersey, where he spent his early years writing stories, and drawing comic books. Kali edited the short film The Body which premiered at the New Jersey State Film Festival. He’s worked as a videographer for digphilly.com, a subsidiary of NBC10 Philadelphia, and as a producer and head videographer for one of Foot Locker's in-store media campaigns. With Truly Unique Vision, Kali has traveled throughout the United States as a market research videographer for clients ranging from McDonalds to Gillette. He is a producer for Truly Unique Vision's website TUVOnline.com and has served as a producer, editor and videographer on dozens of online videos ranging from reality shows, performances, celebrity interviews, and news programs. He has also completed a number of music videos through Philadelphia production company PB & J Productions, and served as a contributing writer for the travel magazine Odyssey Couleur.
