Though Philadelphia offers many LGBTQ friendly organizations, LGBTQ youth are still facing struggles at school, at home, and in their religious communities. The Attic Youth Center provides a supportive and safe community for LGBTQ youth to find the courage not only to get through the challenges they face, but to rise above them to become healthy, independent, civic-minded adults. Youth from the center share their stories and the challenges they have faced as LGBTQ youth in Philadelphia. Reverend Nate Walker, the first openly gay minister of the First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia, also shares his experiences and the philosophy of his welcoming and supportive congregation.
Kathryn Morrison is currently a producer at In The Life. She has worked as a producer at MiND TV and enjoys working on her own documentaries and video projects.
